Morris is a research scientist focusing on combinatorial mathematics and mathematical statistics. Morris was president of UWF from 1988 to 2002. Prior to coming to UWF, he was the vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and professor of mathematics at the University of Mississippi. He also served as Chairman of Mathematics and then Interim Dean of Arts and Science at the University of Oklahoma. He began his academic career at Vanderbilt University. He holds a doctorate in mathematics from Tulane University.
Morris has served as a consultant for the National Security Agency and the Institute for Defense Analysis. He is a reviewer for "Mathematical Reviews" in the area of graph theory. He currently serves as advisor to the Jikei Group of technical schools in Japan. |
