David began his education in computer science at the ESII (Ecole superieur d'ingenierie informatique) in Bordeaux. He graduated from the University of Bordeaux II (France), where he received his Masters degree in Cognitive Science and Cognitive Engineering in 2007.
He joined IHMC at the beginning of 2007 as an exchange student working on the Sensory Substitution for Wounded Servicemembers project. His work at IHMC has been the basis of his Masters thesis.
After his graduation, David returned to IHMC and now works with Anil Raj, M.D. and James Allen, M.D. as a research associate. His research interests include all areas of Human machine interface, Machine learning, voice recognition, and cognitive science.
