    Research Associate
Adrián is a Research Associate at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition. He received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica in 2002 and his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of West Florida in 2009.

In his initial years at IHMC, Adrián was involved in the design and implementation of the networking architecture for the CmapTools project. His work included the client-server protocol, a Java-based Service Location Protocol (SLP) implementation and a remote administration tool (more information about the networking architecture of CmapTools can be found here ). He also participated in the research and development of the indexing and search modules.

Adrián currently works for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET) related projects. One of them includes the implementation of a cross-layer infrastructure for tactical communications middleware. He also participates in the design and development of a MANET emulation environment and applications for heterogeneous platforms and embedded systems.

As a team member of the new IHMC facility in Ocala, Florida, Adrián will participate in the research, design and implementation of biologically inspired methodologies and techniques for cybersecurity and distributed computation.
